Habitat Development Group was founded in 2005 by Cleighton Clark to concentrate solely on innovative multi-unit residential development. Since conception, the group has grown rapidly and has a number of exciting residential developments under construction and in the pipeline in South East Queensland.
Cleighton Clark – Managing Director
Cleighton started his career in property in 1998, working for his father’s company Clark Enterprises while completing a commerce degree from the University of Queensland. Clark Enterprises, among other things, is involved in property development, hotels, thoroughbred breeding and mine exploration. Having managed several projects including, subdivisions, apartments and townhouse projects in Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, Gladstone and North Queensland, Cleighton established Habitat Development Group Pty Ltd to focus specifically on residential development with the aim of delivering high quality, yet affordable investment properties to its clients. More recently, he established the Habitat Property Trust to invest in Habitat projects. The objective of the trust is to consistently retain units in the group’s projects over the long term to generate rental income and capital growth to supplement the group’s development activities. Cleighton oversees all projects from a strategic level while seeking new development opportunities to maintain the group’s return on equity targets long-term.
Steele Clark – Director
Steele Clark joined the group as a Development Manager in 2005 having working abroad for two years in construction. Prior to leaving Australia, he was also involved in the family business, Clark Enterprises and in carpentry for 4 years. Steele became a Director of Habitat Development Group in 2007 and is responsible for overseeing many of the groups’ development projects including the Enclave Retail, a 1000sqm of Commercial and Retail Space in Buderim, The Enclave Underwood, 57 units on the Cnr of Beenleigh Rd, Underwood. He also recently managed the successful completion of Cascades, a 16-unit villa development in Buderim. In addition to overseeing some of the group’s projects, Steele is responsible for sourcing new opportunities in line with the company’s strategy.
Rob Cole – Financial Controller
Rob Cole joined the group in 2007 as the Financial Controller. Rob completed his tertiary education at LA Trobe University where he completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree, with majors in Management Accounting and Information Technology. As a CPA with over 10 years experience in Melbourne, Sydney, London and Brisbane, Rob’s responsibilities include internal financial reporting to the board of directors and to the executive management team, liaison with the company’s auditors, bankers and statutory authorities. Rob oversees budgets for all projects under development and controls all assets under management.
Mark Aldridge – Development Manager
Mark joined Habitat Development Group in May 2007. His property experience has been gained working as a Builder’s Contract Administrator, a Client Side Senior Project Manager, and as a Senior Quantity Surveyor; on residential, commercial and industrial projects. Mark’s tertiary qualifications are Bachelor of Construction Management (Hons) and Bachelor of Business, and industry qualifications as a qualified Quantity Surveyor (AAIQS) and Chartered Building Professional (MCIOB). As a Development Manager, Mark is responsible for the successful delivery of new projects within budgets for time, cost and quality; from conception to completion. Currently, Mark is responsible for Atrium, Habitat’s new $110 million Master Planned Community opposite the future Sippy Downs Town Centre on the Sunshine Coast. In addition to overseeing the development of the 266 unit development, Mark is also seeking new development opportunities in line with the companies’ strategy to focus on the medium density residential market.
