The Maroochy Shire Council voted unanimously in early November 2007 to endorse the plans put forward by Habitat Development Group for the 266 multi-unit project called Atrium. The Development Approval was granted at a meeting of full council. Planning is well under way for commencement of works on the Atrium site, with construction to commence in early 2009.
Habitat Development Group is delighted to have acquired a 3.3 Ha development site adjacent to the future Woolworths development in Sippy Downs in December 2007. Woolworths intend to kick-start a multi-million-dollar town centre at Sippy Downs on the Sunshine Coast; which is directly opposite the University of the Sunshine Coast. Habitat acquired the adjacent 3.3ha site as a strategic Investment in the future town centre and intends to develop a large scale multi-unit development to complement the retail and commercial uses proposed in the town centre.

The Directors of Habitat consider this a strategic move to take advantage of current market conditions as well as an opportunity to better manage the steady flow of work Habitat has on it's books for the next 5 years.
Following a very brief rental campaign; almost all units are now tenanted; demonstrating very strong rental demand in the area and providing investors in the project with rental yields of over 5.5%. With recent interest rate reductions; many units in the complex are now almost cash flow positive.
